Everyone is fine and healthy after an interstate highway deliever In Ft Lauderdale Florida Monday. Olivier Jean Paul Exumé was born in the fast lane of I-95 southbound.
As reported by NBC6 News in South Florida, Rose Mireille Exumé, 42, was scheduled to give birth to her son by C-section on Oct. 4 at Broward General Medical Center.
This past Monday morning ( September 26), she went into labor. As the baby's aunt, Alta Grace Garcon, drove Exumé to the hospital from Deerfield Beach, her water broke before they even got onto Interstate 95.
While driving down I-95, Exumé cried out that she was going to push. Her sister told her not to push, she was not in the correct position to pusy, so she laid down in the back seat. Exumé said the head was out, she could see it. Garcon could see the head of the baby in her rearview mirror as she was driving along the highway. She stated that she could not pull over as her sister's pregancy was a high risk one. This was the 7th child for Exumé and her 4th C-Section.
Garcon also stated that she sped along the highway enroute to the hospital when coming up on a long line of cars which she went along side, blowing her horn in order to tell them to get out of the way.
Exumé who is from Haiti, came to South Florida last month to learn massage and mother and infant care techniques to take back to Haiti.
The child, who weighed in at 7 pounds and 6 ounces, is doing fine and was born healthy!.
